Costumer Critiques
What can you say about a kettle ?
Holds water ?! Boils it ?! Produced in China ?!
I chose this product for 2 factors (i) aesthetics and (ii) for the reason that I choose a classic style over a jug kettle which I tend to discover additional uncomfortable and unstable in use.
When it arrived I was pleased as unusually the picture does not do it justice. It is an elegant and attractive item and a clever and modern day update of a timeless style. It looks modern , not old fashioned, but keeps all the conventional virtues of an old aga kettle such as unusually for these items a spout massive enough and designed to be filled from the tap (aswell as by way of the lid) and is comfy and painless to use. The only gripe I would have is that the somewhat phallic on/off switch that protrudes from the rear like a wagging tail may be prone to breakage in a lively rough-handling household. This no doubt will be changed to a rocker switch or a concealed switch though in future updates of the design.
It also does not hold substantially water (1.6l claimed) which I initially viewed as a disadvantage but soon after employing a couple of occasions now regard as a distinct benefit. Unless you have continuous require to boil large quantities of water, which most consumers will not, this is undoubtedly significantly more effective, less wasteful and quicker for getting on the smaller side (and you could in all probability boil two kettles complete anyway in the time it would take to boil a single kettle with a bigger capacity).
I had viewed with some sceptisism evaluations of other kettles purported by the reviewers to be noisy,as boiling water is just boiling water after all, but I had the advantage of comparing this 1 with my trusty Russell Hobbs which we had had for 14 years and has been fantastic and which I would happily have purchased once again had an equivalent style been accessible but which had begun to leak. The noise distinction was outstanding. The Kenwood was considerably quieter I can only assume given that of the a lot more compact nature of the design of the water chamber.
So , superior if you want one thing classic in approach that looks good but not incongruous in a homely or modern day setting and do not need to have big capacity. Not fine if you are following a jug kettle, have a really contemporary created kitchen or a significant loved ones that needs huge quantities of water boiled at any a single time.
So what can you say about this kettle ?
Holds water and boils it (well). (Well) created in China, like pretty much each electrical appliance today. Looks superior in the flesh than in its portrait. Wonderful value for what it is comparatively. five stars given that I can't think of a cause to give it less !
Had to order a new kettle becuase my other one broke but I had it about ten years. This Kenwood is brilliant, cannot fault it and it looks really good in the kitchen.
