I have had this kettle for about two months now and it is the most effective I've ever owned. The build top quality is exceptional for the cost. The lid is chunky and straightforward to open/close, the spout pours perfectly, the material of the body is glossy and high high quality looking and in no way gets hot. The kettle sits snugly in its base. The on/off switch lights up orangey red when kettle is on. It really is a nicely balanced kettle, really comfy to hold and pour. The 1 cup ( 300ml ) feature is remarkable, and this boils from cold in 59 seconds, no waiting about! Its not the noisiest or the quietest, copeable noise level. The water level gauge is on each sides of the kettle, so great for left or correct handed folks. Pretty nicely thought out and created product.
Edited on 23 October 2010 to add - wow time flies, I didn't realise Id had this kettle more than two years now. Just wanted to say that the kettle nonetheless looks like new, performs as well as ever and greatest of all, the markings on it haven't faded with me cleaning it! Nonetheless enjoy this kettle!

Edited on 13 December 2011 even though performing Christmas shopping. Kettle nevertheless operating perfectly, like new.
Perfectly very good kettle to start off with. Following about 8 months I thought I'd been dripping water onto base as I put kettle on it. Soon after another month, the base would be full of water just after the kettle had been standing overnight.There was certainly a leak from the base of the kettle. The replacement kettle only took 6 months until it began leaking. Now on the look out for yet another kettle. The difficulty is, most reviews are written soon following obtain and don't extremely give you a opportunity to see if a difficulty develops later.
