I agree that this is a nice looking kettle but unfortunately it does not stand the test of time. I bought this kettle in Jan 09 and would have happily given a high rating on 1st impression, speed and quietness. Yet by Aug 09 the lid struggled to respond to the push button mechanism, at some point stopped opening and then collapsed. The lid split in two leaving the base of the lid on the kettle and permitting the inner workings of plastic and metal spring to fall out. I happily received a replacement, but 4 months on and the same factor has occurred once more. The kettle still looks like new, but the plastic lid mechanism appears to be produced up of lightweight plastic/a small metal spring which does not match the excellent of the rest of the kettle.
The russell Hobbs 14439 Stylis Kettle is extremely fashionable and the following functions are excellent:
1. Very good size as it holds 1.7 Litres
two. Clear vision to gauge the quantity of water
3. No limescale develop up (my previous kettle which was a leading of the range Brevill leaked)
four. Fashionable style of terrific excellent
