It boils immediately and looks very good in our kitchen. I utilized to have a lovely whistling stove-best kettle but decided to get an electric 1 mainly because the stove-prime took just about Five MINUTES to boil sufficient water for two cups of tea... I bought this kettle (in a different colour, but the model is the identical) about four months ago and have knowledgeable no odd taste to the water as reported by some. Granted, it is not the quietest kettle in the world but due to the fact it's only on for a minute I do not give some thought to the noise to be a situation.
